Wiser than an owl, we have decades of experience and knowledge.

Karen Anderson, Owner
Karen adopted a cockatiel years ago and quickly decided that more experience and knowledge of parrots was an absolute necessity.
She has since been working with parrot species for more than 20 years. She is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians, The American Federation of Aviculture and is a Professional level member of the International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators.
And credentials aside, she is just crazy enough to have twelve parrots and two canaries of her own.

Ella Walker, Avian Care Specialist
Ella has been working with parrots since 2011. She began her bird experience as the head of the bird department at a large pet store in Madison, WI. She came to Avian Suites in 2019.
She is in a veterinary technician program and is working part time at a veterinary clinic that sees birds, which helps her with hands on experience.
She is owned by two cockatiels (Stinky & Vada), a Mexican red head amazon (Amelia), two geckos, one snake, and one frog.

Patti Christie, Owner Emerita
Patti built the Avian Suites concept and business during her years as its former owner.
Currently, she is practice manager for two veterinary clinics, in addition to her role at Avian Suites.
Previously, Patti served as Director of Operations at a very large parrot welfare organization, providing her with a wealth of knowledge about parrots.
Patti has five parrots of her own, and we are fortunate to have her experience back at Avian Suites.
